UNDERSTANDING THE CORSETS

WHAT IS A CORSET?

The corsets are developed from a good quality fabric like leather and cotton that is equipped with steel poles to provide the corset with extraordinary strength. So that it can clinch your waist to give a better shape to your hips and bustline. Mainly the corsets are fixed by locking the front busk and then tying the laces from the back. The leather made corsets are made to fit around your waist and can be “overbust” or “underbust,” and based on your style, can be worn either over garments or under your garments. The corsets are of various styles that have less and increasingly extraordinary curves, and that fit a wide range of body types.

IS STEEL BONING NECESSARY?

If there are no steel poles in a corset, we can’t consider it a corset. Why so? Steel boning is vital for securing your waist. A corset with poor quality plastic as a bone, which is cheaper as well, is just for looks or design, and will actually start tearing at the creases in case you attempt to fix it tight.

TYPE OF BONING IN CORSETS.

A corset consists of two types of boning – flat and spiral. Both boning are required if you want smooth movement while wearing it. The flat one found at the front busk of the corset. The purpose of flat boning is to move to and fro. Spiral steel boning is found all through the corset and can be moved in all directions permitting the wearer a decent level of bending.

WHY WEAR CORSETS?

There are various valid reasons for using the steel fitted corsets. A few ladies wear them for fashion or when they have to go for an occasion like a wedding, while others wear under their garments to maintain their posture. Most ladies who wear leather corsets, wear them essentially to stop people in their tracks to have a look at their hourglass figures.
